2024 In Review

2024 was a year of focused growth and refinement for Four on Four. Our efforts centered on elevating the quality of our content, streamlining operations, and strengthening the consistency of our brand across platforms.
We placed a major emphasis on standardization—from DJ intros and mix covers to article images and the overall site interface. These updates allowed us to significantly reduce the time spent on content creation while maintaining a consistent and polished aesthetic across everything we release.
Our channel-driven structure continued to thrive, with strong ongoing contributions to the Systematik (epic trance), Fishmouth (progressive house), and Rust (lounge) channels. These genre-focused collections remain the backbone of Four on Four’s programming, each offering fans a distinct experience with high-quality, curated mixes.
In 2024, we continued to build out our signature channel series with several key mix releases that pushed the Four on Four sound forward. The Systematik series saw the release of editions Systematik 4 through Systematik 7, expanding the reach of our epic trance channel with increasingly complex and high-energy sets that reflected DJ Alexander’s evolving sound. On the lounge front, Rust 4 delivered another deep and immersive listening experience, maintaining the channel’s reputation for rich atmosphere and emotional depth. Meanwhile, the Fishmouth progressive house channel gained traction with the release of Fishmouth 2 and Fishmouth 3, both of which showcased intricate layering, seamless transitions, and a polished progression of sound. These additions further solidified the identity of each channel and gave fans more of the specialized content they’ve come to expect.
We also implemented phrase matching across all new mixes—drawing from the DJ technique of aligning musical phrases so that transitions not only sound seamless but also land with maximum impact. This approach allows the energy of the next track to enter exactly when the listener expects it, creating a more engaging and intentional flow.
This year also saw several live dj sets which you can watch on the site.
In terms of production and engagement statistics:
  • 82 total shows
  • 571 Mixcloud followers
  • 6,170 total plays
  • A77,558 minutes of listening time
  • 237 favorites, 25 comments, and 57 reposts
These numbers reflect not only the hard work of the Four on Four team but also the loyalty and enthusiasm of our listeners. As we move into the next year, we’re excited to keep building on this momentum.

Looking Ahead To 2025

The theme for 2025 is efficiency through standardization and automation.
After years of building and maintaining a highly customized music platform, we made the strategic decision to transition to a new site that’s hosted as part of an off-the-shelf product. The previous site, while powerful, had become too complex to sustain and was pulling our team away from what matters most—focusing on the music and content.
With this transition, we’ve unlocked a new level of productivity. Our ability to deliver content has grown exponentially, and the new platform allows us to operate faster, leaner, and with far less overhead.
This year, we’re planning to significantly increase the volume of content and mixes we release, backed by a standard framework that finally aligns with our creative ambitions.
The new site also introduces long-awaited features that were difficult to support before, including user registration, commenting, and ratings—giving fans more ways to interact, share feedback, and engage directly with the Four on Four community.
Mix channels will stay and so will some of the series you’re familiar with such as Track of the Week, FOF Essentials, and FOF Collections.
Expect to continue to see some of the amazing mixes that DJ Alexander produces such as Rust 7 which placed 19th in the Mixcloud Global Lounge Charts.
This year we’ve also premiered some of our Four on Four Eternal mixes and you can check those out on the site. Keep checking back as those will grow over time to represent the timeliness of epic trance, progressive house and lounge genres.
This year, we also rolled out a highly requested feature based on listener feedback: timestamped tracklists. Now, when you’re listening to a mix and want to know exactly what track is playing, the answer is right there—no more guessing.

In Summary

2025 marks a new chapter for Four on Four—one defined by focus, speed, and scale. With a new platform in place, we’ve streamlined how we work, allowing us to concentrate more fully on what drives this brand: the music.
From the expansion of our core channels like Systematik, Rust, and Fishmouth to the introduction of interactive features like user registration, comments, and ratings, everything we’ve done is about increasing the delivery of content and deepening the connection between our content and our listeners. As we move forward, we’re positioned to release more mixes, bring new ideas to life faster, and continue evolving Four on Four into one of the most forward-thinking music platforms out there.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
— The Four on Four Team
