About The Artist
Marco V (real name Marco Verkuylen), born April 3, 1967 in the Netherlands, is a trailblazer in electronic music—especially celebrated for shaping the tech-trance genre. He began spinning in his teens at local venues in Eindhoven and rose to wider recognition by the mid-1990s. His enduring influence earned him a spot among the world’s top 100 DJs from 2004 through 2009.
His breakthrough singles like “Godd”, “Simulated”, and “Loops and Tings Relooped” became national hits in the early 2000s. His mix albums—including Con:Fusion (2002), 200V (2005), and the Propaganda series (2009)—became foundational for trance enthusiasts.
Marco V is also the creative force behind collaborations like Southside Spinners (notably for the track “Luvstruck”) and, more recently, music production alongside his son Thomas Newson. His ability to weave genres—blending trance, techno, house, and big room elements—keeps his sound dynamic and forward-facing.
He also excels as a remixer, offering his creative touch to a diverse list of artists—from classic trance acts to pop icons like Madonna and James Blunt.
Through his own label In Charge, plus releases on labels like Revealed, Spinnin’, Armada, and Flamingo, Marco V has cultivated a sound that’s both timeless and current. He continues to headline the world’s biggest festivals—Tomorrowland, Sensation, Mysteryland, Ultra Miami, and more—driving an energetic legacy that connects generations.
