About The Label

Founded in 1997 in Breda, the Netherlands by Tiësto and Arny Bink, Black Hole Recordings emerged from the trance underground and helped propel the genre into global prominence. The label’s early landmark releases included Tiësto’s groundbreaking Magik mix compilations and the influential In Trance We Trust series, both of which laid the foundation for tracks and mix albums that defined a generation of trance music.
Over the years, Black Hole expanded its creative reach through sub-labels such as SongBird, Magik Muzik, and In Search of Sunrise, each focusing on different flavors of electronic dance—from vocal trance to progressive house. The label became a home for major artists like Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, and many more, consistently championing both established names and fresh talent.
Black Hole Recordings is also known for its independent spirit and deep roots in the global trance community. Operating with a lean team from its Breda base, it continues to uphold authenticity and innovation in an industry dominated by larger corporate players.
More than two decades later, Black Hole remains an essential imprint for electronic music fans, celebrated for its iconic compilations and a catalog that continues to evolve while honoring its legacy.
