About The Label
Armada Music was founded in June 2003 in Amsterdam by Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron, and David Lewis, with the name “Armada” formed from their initials. Since then, it has grown into the world’s largest independent dance music label, managing a catalog of well over 40,000 tracks and a formidable roster of global artists.
The label spans a wide array of electronic genres—trance, progressive, house, techno, deep, and tech-house—and is home to artists such as Armin van Buuren, Andrew Rayel, Loud Luxury, Eelke Kleijn, D.O.D, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Themba, and more. Armada consistently achieves hundreds of millions of streams per month and maintains strong presence on major radio networks like BBC Radio 1 and Sirius XM.
Armada isn’t just a label—it’s a full-service brand. Alongside offices in Amsterdam, London, and New York, it operates its own club, studio facilities, record label, radio production space, and an educational arm called Armada University. The label is known for its live event series “Armada Invites,” signature compilation series, and artist-centered philosophy.
Over the years, Armada has earned repeated recognition as “Best Global Dance Label,” and continues to expand its influence not just through releases, but via strategic initiatives like a music fund and catalog acquisitions to keep pushing the future of electronic dance music.
