About The Artist
Aly & Fila are an Egyptian trance duo from Cairo, composed of Aly El Sayed Amr Fathalah (Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (Fila), childhood friends born in 1981. They began producing music together around 1999 and entered the international scene with their debut track “Eye of Horus” in 2003, which earned support from legends like Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren.
They established themselves early as pioneers in uplifting trance. In 2009, they launched their own label, Future Sound of Egypt Recordings (FSOE), which quickly became a platform for uplifting trance releases and emerging artists. Their radio show, Future Sound of Egypt, became a global fixture, fostering a dedicated worldwide following.
Aly & Fila have released several influential studio albums, including Rising Sun (2010), Quiet Storm (2013), The Other Shore (2014), and Beyond the Lights (2017). Their tracks have earned multiple “Tune of the Year” accolades on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance, including for “We Control the Sunlight” (2011), “Unbreakable” (2016), “Somebody Loves You” (2020), and “For All Time” (2021).
In a historic moment, they performed at the Great Pyramids of Giza—one of only a few electronic acts to stage a show there—cementing their status as trance icons with cultural significance.
